Al-Ittihad are reportedly ready to make a ludicrous offer for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah with the Egyptian still a top target for the Saudi side.

The Saudi side, managed by former Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo, are seemingly keen on the former Chelsea and AS Roma forward.

An offer in the hundreds of millions may well be needed to try and tempt the Premier League giants into selling the right-winger although whether the Anfield club would be open to selling Salah remains to be seen.

According to a report from James Benge, from CBS Sports, the Saudi side will make a €150 million (£128 million) offer for the 31-year-old forward to try and test the English side’s resolve in keeping the winger.

The Saudi Pro League title holders have made the Egyptian their highest priority target between now and the end of their transfer window on September 20.

The report says they are prepared to sanction a deal that would greatly eclipse their country’s transfer record, the £76 million Al-Hilal paid for Neymar earlier this month.

Would Salah join the Saudi side

It seems the winger was open to the move to Al-Ittihad but it is unclear if that remains the case.

According to the same report, the deal would be made up of £85 million in guaranteed payments with a further £42 million in add-ons, that would be performance-based.

The Egyptian winger delivered a timely reminder of his superb quality as it was his assist to Darwin Nunez which won Liverpool the game against Newcastle United at St James Park.

It seems unlikely that the Saudi side would be tempted to sell Salah, with Liverpool insisting he is not for sale, and with the transfer window closing this Friday, a deal would have to be completed soon.
