Al-Ittihad are reportedly becoming more and more confident that they could sign Mohamed Salah this summer after holding ‘positive’ talks with the Premier League side.

According to a post by Sports Zone, a French outlet, discussions between Salah and Al-Ittihad are progressing and there is some confidence from the Saudi side that they could sign the Egyptian this summer.

The Liverpool forward looked set to remain at the Anfield club and after reports that the Saudi side were pushing to sign the forward, his agent Ramy Abbas denied that there was an agreement.

He said that the former AS Roma forward would be remaining at Anfield this summer.

Despite the repeated commitment to Liverpool, it has been previously reported that Salah sees himself joining the Saudi top flight in the summer of 2024 according to the same report from Sports Zone.

Salah to join this summer rather than next summer

According to Sports Zone, Al Ittihad are seemingly now confident of bringing the Egyptian winger to the Gulf State before the end of this summer’s transfer window, which in Saudi Arabia, closes on 20th September.

Salah has started both of Liverpool’s Premier League games this season, notably scoring in a 3-1 victory against Bournemouth last weekend.

The winger, were he to make the move to the Saudi side, would link up with former teammate Fabinho and could well form a lethal attacking partnership with Karim Benzema.

The fee for the Saudi side that they would need to pay Jurgen Klopp’s side could well be prohibitive for this deal to move forward.

The signing would no doubt be the best signing made in the Pro League this season although it will seemingly be a tough deal to pull off for the Saudi side managed by former Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
