Al-Ittihad have reportedly intensified their efforts to sign Mohamed Salah from Liverpool on a permanent deal this summer.

Salah has been heavily linked with a sensational move to Al-Ittihad this transfer window despite signing a new contract last year.

The Egyptian has been influential in Liverpool’s recent success after guiding them to multiple titles including a UEFA Champions League and a first Premier League title.

He could now be tempted to leave the Premier League after spending six years in England as Al-Ittihad have opened talks with Liverpool over a potential deal.

According to a report by Saudi newspaper Okaz, Al-Ittihad have sent their representatives to London to hold official talks with Liverpool for Salah.

Previous reports have confirmed that Salah agreed personal terms with Al-Ittihad officials but Liverpool remain unwilling to let go of the 31-year-old.

Fabrizio Romano had also revealed that Salah is focused on Liverpool’s project as his current deal at Anfield runs until the summer of 2025.

Al-Ittihad have already done business with the Reds after signing Brazilian midfielder Fabinho for a whopping fee of approximately £40 million.

The report also added that the Tigers are exploring the possibility of signing Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes despite Mikel Arteta asserting the central defender will stay beyond the summer.

It’s worth noting that Ittihad have already acquired Jota, N’Golo Kanté, and Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema, spending around £73 million in the process.

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo was recently asked about making more signings before the transfer window deadline on September 20th, and the Portuguese did not rule out the possibility.
