Rumours have confirmed that Al-Ittihad could make a late bid for Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe on deadline day.

Al-Ittihad’s summer business is almost complete with just a few hours left in the Saudi summer transfer window.

After bringing in Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Fabinho, and Jota from Celtic, Al-Ittihad seem to be confident in making more additions.

News broke on Thursday that Real Betis centre-back Luiz Felipe is set to complete a £21 million move to Al-Ittihad before the transfer window shuts.

According to a report by Asharq Al-Awsat, Al-Ittihad are still not done yet in the transfer window and have set their sights on the possibility of signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe.

The Saudi champions are reportedly searching for a replacement for ex-West Brom defender Ahmed Hegazi, who suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear two months ago.

The Egyptian is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines and Al-Ittihad manager Nuno Santo is keen on finding a suitable solution.

Kimpembe has a contract with PSG that runs until the summer of 2024 and with one year left on his contract, Al-Ittihad could try to bring the 28-year-old to Saudi Arabia.

It’s worth noting that Al-Ittihad are also handling outgoing transfers to make room for new signings with the club confirming the departure of Egypt’s Tarek Hamed to Damac.

The Tigers recently lost 4-3 to Al-Hilal in the Saudi El Clasico despite leading by two goals in the second half, as Alexandar Mitrovic’s treble completed a sensational comeback for the Blues.

The defeat was Al-Ittihad’s first of the campaign after going unbeaten in their opening games and keeping four clean sheets.
